Damian Watcyn Lewis CBE, a British actor, presenter, and producer, was born on February 11, 1971. In the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, he is best known for playing Major Richard Winters of the United States Army. He received nominated for both for his performance as Henry VIII of England in Wolf Hall and went on to win a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his depiction of U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant Nicholas Brody in the Showtime series Homeland.

In the first five seasons of the Showtime drama Billions, he played Bobby Axelrod. Most recently, he played actor Steve McQueen in the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Charlotte Mary Lewis is Damian’s mother. Charlotte died three days after her son’s 30th birthday in a car accident on the way to the Taj Mahal in India, where she’d been on vacation with her husband of three decades.
