Big Sean Hints At A New Album Coming This Year
Big Sean hasn’t released any new music in a long time, but a recent comment has fans wondering if their wait is finally over.
The “IDFWU” rapper spitting over a J. Dilla beat was captured in a freestyle that Rap Radar’s Elliott Wilson re-posted on Saturday, February 10. Big Sean even mentions Taylor Swift in the verse.
The rapper hinted to a new album in the comments section of his freestyle after receiving favorable feedback. Since his 2022 single “Hate Our Love” with Queen Naija, Big Sean has not released any new music. He collaborated with Hit-Boy on the EP What You Expect last year, which came out a year after his most recent full-length solo release, Detroit 2.
Whether this freestyle will appear on the upcoming album or whether the beat will be used again for a different song is unclear, though. On a new song released this month, he and Bryson Tiller alternated rapping over the beat of J Dilla’s Slum Village song “Get Dis Money.” As part of the singer’s “Tiller Tuesdays” series, the song can be found on Tiller’s most recent Slum Tiller Vol. 3 EP.
The Louisville-bred MC bemoans the end of a relationship on the cut, while Big Sean spits some bars on relationships.
