Bloody Civilian Becomes One Of Shazam’s Predicted Artists For Global Success In 2024

Nigerian fast-rising Afrobeats star Bloody Civilian has been added to music discovery engine Shazam’s annual breakthrough predictions list, positioning her as one of the artists likely to achieve international prominence in 2024.

With 300 million monthly users worldwide, the Apple-owned app describes itself as a “reliable and invaluable tool for both artists and fans” because of its exceptional capacity to correctly identify the next big thing in music.

Bloody Civilian was featured on a 10-name list that included five musicians that could become internationally famous in 2024 and five artists who are becoming more well-known locally. With “I Don’t Like You,” the Nigerian singer-songwriter debuted on the Shazam chart in April 2023.

Later in the year, her debut EP, Anger Management, peaked at number one in nine countries and made it to the top 10 in the Afrobeats albums list across 69 countries. The final half of the year saw an increase in her streams on editorial playlists of more than 50%.

Bloody Civilian, whose song was used on the soundtrack of Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, once said that people would be most likely shazaming her music in Ubers.

Seven out of the 50 artists on last year’s predictions list, which featured Nigerian singer and Instagram star Carter Efe, peaked in Shazam’s Global Top 200, while 80% of the artists reached Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 across 171 countries.
