Crayon Appreciates Rema For Housing Him For Two Years

Charles Chibuezechukwu, better known by his stage name Crayon, has stated that Rema, another artist on the Mavin Records roster, put up with him for two years before Crayon became well-known. He claimed Rema was essential to his professional success. This was revealed by the singer of “Ijo Labalaba” during a recent interview with MTV Base Africa.

“Shoutout to Rema mehn,” Crayon began. “That’s my brother for life. Rema was a big support, as well. He was very instrumental [to my career success] . You know what’s crazy? I stayed in his house for two years.”

Following his signing to Mavin Records’ Blowtime Entertainment division in May 2019, Crayon gained notoriety. In a recent interview with MTV Base, Crayon has also related how his family was once evicted by a landlord because his parents were unable to pay the rent on time.  Crayon claims that the event took place in 2013 when their house rent was N18,000

The “Modupe” singer claimed that following their eviction from the home, they moved in with a member of their church who was also in arrears on his rent and was also kicked out. The singer also discussed his life-changing choice to forgo his pursuit of a college degree in order to devote himself entirely to his music profession in another interview with HipTV.

The artist made this choice after attempting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) five times but failing to gain admission each time.
