Davido Launches His New Nine+ Record Label In Partnership With UnitedMasters
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido, who previously launched Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) as the flagship artist of HKN, has now teamed up with UnitedMasters to introduce a new record label, Nine+ Records.
UnitedMasters announced the deal on April 18, 2024, describing it as a “groundbreaking collaboration with Davido” on their official Instagram page. According to the press release, UnitedMasters described the collaboration as revolutionary for the African music scene, showcasing how one of the most significant personalities on the continent could catapult up-and-coming musicians’ careers to never-before-seen levels.
Davido expressed in his statements that he was excited to be working with UnitedMasters during this exciting time for both established and up-and-coming musicians worldwide. Following UnitedMasters’ 2023 collaboration with Sarz Academy, Davido is the most recent Nigerian musician with whom the company will collaborate.
This comes after after DMW 2.0 was rebranded, and Davido signed Morravey and Logos Olori, who both featured on his Grammy-nominated fourth album, “Timeless.” Davido also recently achieved a historic milestone when he became the third musician from Nigeria to play a sold-out show as the main attraction at Madison Square Garden.
With the debut of Nine+ Records, Davido, who has achieved success as a superstar and label owner, hopes to elevate up-and-coming musicians to a higher level of recognition.
