Halle Bailey Drops Emotive “In Your Hands” Video Featuring Baby Halo, Reveals Song’s Meaning
Halle Bailey has been quite the busy bee in the past few months. Not only has she been delivering award-winning performances and furthering her music career, but she has also recently become a mother. In late 2023, the 23-year-old welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Halo, with her boyfriend, DDG. Despite this newfound chapter in her life, Bailey has not slowed down and has continued to dive headfirst into new projects.
One such project is her upcoming solo album, which she has been working on alongside her other commitments. Last week, Bailey unveiled another new single from the album, “In Your Hands”. The song is a moving track with an accompanying dramatic music video. In the video, Bailey is seen serenading viewers in a dark forest and shredding on a guitar, all while her baby boy briefly appears in the powerful visual.
Recently, Bailey took to Instagram Live to chat with her fans about “In Your Hands.” During her livestream, she answered questions and provided background information on the song. Bailey revealed that the track was initially meant to be a 30-second interlude on her upcoming album. However, after writing the hook, her friends and family urged her to give it the credit it deserves. Bailey later decided to rewrite the remainder of the song and release it as a single. It’s a testament to her creative vision, and she will soon have a lot more in store for her fans.
She said,
“The hook is based [on] being in love, being in a relationship and knowing that you know, your future with this person is just beautiful and the love that you have with this person is beautiful but also knowing your worth,”
“The verses that I wrote, I wrote when I was pregnant, and in a way, it has like a double meaning. So the verses almost are to Halo, because I felt like I was singing to him just about how I’m always going to be here for him, and my journey as his mother, and all these things.”
