J. Cole Offers An Apology To Kendrick Lamar For Dissing Him On His Latest Surprise Album

J Cole admits to regretting dissing Kendrick Lamar while playing at the Dreamville Festival at Dorothea Dix Park on Sunday night. Pausing in the middle of his headline tour, Cole talked about how proud he is of the work he did on his new mixtape, Might Delete Later, but that the last song, “7 Minute Drill,” wasn’t quite right for him.

J Cole’s public apology to Kendrick Lamar has stunned the rap community. Recently, after Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake on Metro Boomin and Future’s song “Like That,” the feud between the two rappers was reignited. J. Cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar were referred to as the “big 3” on Drake’s No. 1 smash song, “First Person Shooter.”

Kendrick took offense to the statement and responded to it on Metro Boomin and Future’s song “Like That.” He took shots at Drake’s most recent album, “For All the Dogs,” and responded to J. Cole’s “Big 3” line with a “Big Me” line in which he states that he is not a member of the hip-hop trio that is thought to be the greatest rappers of their generation.

During his three-minute statement, Cole called Kendrick Lamar one of the best rappers of all time, calling dissing his catalog the dumbest thing he has ever done. Additionally, J. Cole disclosed that he has been having trouble sleeping since the diss release and that he will be cutting back on social media. He then went on to perform his hit track, “Luv Yourz.”
