Killer Mike Establishes Mini Residency At The Blue Note Jazz Club In New York City

Four-time Grammy winner Killer Mike is scheduled to perform a series of private gigs at the Blue Note in New York in July.

The rapper will play two gigs a night, at 8 and 10:30 p.m., for six shows with the Mighty Midnight Revival on July 29, 30, and 31. Killer Mike’s Down by Law tour includes the concerts. On the Blue Note website, tickets will go on sale on April 5.

After garnering three nominations in three different categories, including best rap song and best rap performance for his song “Scientists & Engineers” and best rap album for “Michael,” his sixth studio album that was released in June 2023, Killer Mike emerged victorious at this year’s ceremony.

Unexpectedly, Killer Mike was taken into custody for misdemeanor violence after fighting with a security guard at the Grammy Awards, just moments after he had won three awards in the pre-telecast. Later that evening, just before the broadcast ceremony came to a close, the rapper was set free by the authorities.

Speaking on “The View,” activist Killer Mike talked about his “overwhelming” Grammys night and his views on racism, systematic violence, and social inequity. In the upcoming months, the Blue Note will also play host to a plethora of jazz legends as well as hip-hop and R&B artists, such as Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Masego, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Terrace Martin.
