Metro Boomin Uses Drake’s Lyrics To Troll On Instagram
Drake, the famous Canadian rapper and songwriter, is in a challenging and uncomfortable situation. Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar, the famed American rapper, released several diss tracks aimed at Drake. While Drake responded with his diss track, titled “The Heart Part 6,” it was largely unsuccessful, and the consensus among listeners and critics alike is that Drake is losing the battle. To make matters worse, Metro Boomin, a successful record producer, took the opportunity to add salt to the wound. Metro Boomin is not letting up on Drake with his trolling on social media. It all started when he asked Kendrick Lamar to hop on “Like That,” Now, he’s using Drake’s lyrics to mock him on social media.
Metro Boomin and Future have released two successful joint albums, WE DON’T LIKE YOU and WE STILL DON’T LIKE YOU, and they are currently the most famous duo in hip-hop. Metro Boomin recently shared a post on Instagram featuring pictures of him and Future throughout the years to commemorate their success. The caption on the post read: “Never turn my back on FBG, God forbid.” This line is a reference to Future’s label, Freebandz. Fans of the Drake and Future single “Life Is Good” will recognize this line from Drake’s verse.
Metro Boomin is effectively dissing Drake on two different levels. Firstly, he’s using these words to express his loyalty to Future and Freebandz. Secondly, he’s reminding fans that Drake and the Freebandz crew are no longer cool. Metro Boomin has also been mocking Drake musically. He released a beat called “BBL Drizzy” on Soundcloud, referencing Drake’s surgery rumours. He has also offered $10K and a free beat to whoever makes the best song over it. The “BBL Drizzy” beat has gone viral, with rappers and musicians worldwide taking a crack at rhyming over it. There have even been interpretive dances and guitar solos set to it.
Although Drake had taken a jab at Metro Boomin with the line “make some drums” on “Push Ups,” the producer may have the last laugh in this ongoing feud. The attention generated by this feud between Metro Boomin and Drake has sparked a lot of interest from fans of both artists, and it remains to be seen how this will play out in the future.
