Mohbad’s Father Opens Up About His Son’s Death And The Difficulty Of Reaching Naira Marley

Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has called on Nigerians to exercise restraint and avoid blaming Naira Marley for his son’s untimely death. Mohbad, 27, died on September 12 and was buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Several controversies and conspiracy theories followed Mohbad’s death, as Naira Marley and Sam Larry denied allegations that they were involved in the singer’s death.

Amid the bullying allegations leveled against Naira Marley and his possible involvement in the tragic death of a young singer, Mr. Aloba reiterated that the Marlian Records boss may be innocent of these allegations. In a recent interview with Sight Nigeria, Mr. Aloba clarified some controversial issues surrounding his son’s death.

He described the late singer as his friend and the light of their family, stressing that although his son faced challenges, they could not definitively attribute his problems to Naira Marley. Talking about the steps taken to resolve Mohbad’s complaint that Naira Marley and others assaulted him, Mr. Aloba said he tried his best to reach Naira Marley but everything was in vain.

Mr. Aloba denied that his son was involved in drugs but said he was attacked at Naira Marley’s house. He recounted the events of the attack on Mohbad, emphasizing that he personally went to see his son and prayed for him.
