Oxlade Discusses His Sextape Incident And Claims To Have Lost About 400M Naira
Afrobeats musician, Oxlade, has spoken out over the February 2022 leak of his sex tape. Joey Akan and Oxlade had a one-on-one meeting to go over the specifics of Oxlade’s leaked sex tape. Due to the singer’s nude images and leaked sex tape, Oxlade became a trending subject on social media in the early hours of February 2022.
Oxlade was the third widely recognized Nigerian person in 2022 to have a sex tape leak surface online. For the first time, Oxlade had a conversation with podcaster Joey Akan about the event’s dire effects on his income and career. He emphasized the challenges that celebrities face while handling privacy invasions.
Oxlade disclosed that the controversy had an impact on his mental health, family, and any endorsement agreements. The singer also shared that, though, he had had the explicit content with him for a while, he was being blackmailed by another who had possibly gotten their hands on it.
The singer said he even agreed to paying hush money to the blackmailer, and was quite relieved when the tape was released, regardless of the cash paid. Oxlade apologized to his followers and the unnamed woman in the video in 2022, a few days after the leaked footage was made public.
Oxlade further disclosed that the consequences of the released footage forced him to check himself into rehab.
