Rapsody Comments On J Cole & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

During her appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, the renowned rapper Rapsody talked about the “squashed feud” between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, two of the most celebrated rappers in the industry. Rapsody had previously collaborated with both artists and is known for her exceptional talent as a lyricist. Rapsody had praise for Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly” album, which many say was one of the diss punchlines in the feud between the two rappers. She remarked that she would have avoided going after Lamar’s discography if she were in Cole’s position. Cole labelled the album overrated in his diss track, “7 Minute Drill,” which he has since removed from streaming services.

However, Rapsody had one stand: Cole shouldn’t have apologized and emphasized that rap battles are a sport, and the art of war is just that—war. She acknowledged that Cole made his decision to diss Lamar, but if it were her, she would not have attacked Lamar’s discography. However, since he already did, apologizing made it look “weak rather than “peaceful,” as he was trying to project.

The feud between Lamar and Cole began when Lamar dissed Cole and Drake on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.” Cole responded with “7 Minute Drill” but apologized for his actions days later. During the Dreamville Festival, he admitted that the beef disrupted his peace and downplayed Lamar’s greatness. He also acknowledged Lamar’s talent as one of the greatest rappers ever.

On the flip side, despite Cole’s apology, Lamar is still not on good terms with Drake, indicating that the beef between them is still ongoing. The feud between these three rappers has been a long-standing controversy and topic of discussion in the hip-hop genre, and it continues to spark debates among fans and critics alike as many await Lamar’s response.
