The famous Afrobeat musician was recently taken into police custody and charged with assaulting an officer, violating Section 356 of the Criminal Code Act. Despite being granted bail on May 16, 2023, by Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, the singer was not released until May 23, 2023, after the police completed their investigation within the given 48 hours.

After some individuals were awarded national honors, Seun expressed doubt about their principles. The outspoken human rights activist has been vocal about his opposition to hypocritical government officials. According to Seun, it is better to avoid associating with politicians in the “Devil’s House” and instead be in prison.

“Dem put me on a hard cold floor, in the midst of prisoners, still better than sitting in the devil’s house with politicians.”

After being released, the artist departed to join his European tour and shared details of his time in police custody during the tour.
