Solidstar Discusses His Rocky Past With Hard Drugs

Solidstar Isoko, whose real name is Joshua Iniyezo, has revealed some details about his three-year musical break.

Solidstar, a Nigerian artist best known for songs like Shaba and One in a Million, opened out about a difficult time in his life that included drug abuse and mental health issues in a candid conversation. According to Solid Star, he first encountered narcotics in 2021—more precisely, “ice.” He asserts that this had a severe negative effect on his mental health and drove him to the verge.

The musician talked about going through such a bad mental breakdown that he nearly went insane. Solidstar described trekking a significant distance during this period, from Awoyaya to the Oriental Hotel, adding yet additional detail to an already tough experience.

The Oriental Hotel in Lekki is believed to be fairly distant from the Lagos neighborhood of Awoyaya. The disclosure of Solidstar illuminates the frequently unseen struggles that celebrities encounter. His experience serves as a reminder of the risks associated with substance usage and the significance of mental health awareness.

Although his present condition is unknown, supporters are hoping the gifted musician has already fully recovered. Before now, videos of Solidstar seeming disheveled in torn clothing and idly strolling down the street became viral online in August 2023. Joseph, the singer’s brother, who uploaded the video, claimed that the singer was suffering from a heroin addiction.
