Taylor Swift Contributes $100K To The GoFundMe Page Of The Family Of The Woman Killed At The Chiefs Victory Parade

Taylor Swift noticed a GoFundMe page for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the lady who was shot and murdered at the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade, and she contributed $100,000 early on Friday morning.

The “Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial” page was created on Thursday afternoon, with the intention of helping the 44-year-old gunshot victim’s family by raising $75,000. When Swift exceeded the goal early on Friday morning, with a $50,000 gift eight minutes after the first, and another donation of the same amount eight minutes after that, almost 1,300 people had contributed.

Although that was considered middle of the night in American time zones, Swift was actually in Melbourne, Australia, where she is performing on the first night of a three-night engagement after flying halfway around the world to resume her tour following her Super Bowl attendance. The Australian showtime was when the donations were made.

Swift’s representative affirmed that the singer’s donations that were displayed on the page were genuine. Following a gunshot wound to her abdomen during the turmoil that ensued, Lopez-Galvan passed away on Wednesday. Later reports revealed that she died at the scene, contradicting the initial accounts that stated she died following surgery.

According to the Kansas City Star, Lopez-Galvan co-hosted the Latin music show “Taste of Tejano” on community radio station KKFI in addition to being a wedding DJ.
