The Weeknd Shares Madonna & Playboi Carti Collabo Music Video On “Fortnite”

The Weeknd, a multi-talented Canadian artist, is enjoying some love from the public as his recently released highly-anticipated music video for his latest hit single, “Popular,” gains social media attention. The video features legendary pop icon Madonna and rapper Playboi Carti, and it premiered during the Fortnite Festival, marking the end of The Weeknd’s takeover of Season 1 of the event. The video was exclusively available to fans playing the game in a brand-new viewing area on the Jam Stage. The video played on repeat for three days, from February 15 at 7:00 PM ET through February 18 at 7:00 PM ET, giving fans ample time to appreciate the video’s stunning visuals and creative artistry fully. However, as of Sunday afternoon, the video is not officially available anywhere else, leaving fans eagerly waiting for its release.

In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, The Weeknd revealed how he was inspired to create “something uplifting and felt like a celebration” with “Popular.” The opportunity to collaborate with Madonna, whom he considers a dream collaborator, made the experience even more special. It is worth mentioning that The Weeknd is not the first artist to work with Fortnite, as the game has previously partnered with several other big-name artists, such as Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and Marshmello.
