With a glass of red wine in hand and three open laptops facing him, Logic seems chill and fulfilled in his natural habitat, rocking some cool custom drip. Next to him on the wall is the mixtape’s title sprayed in red.

Tracks and Features

“Still Pushin” begins the mixtape with Logic bringing us into his life lately and what it was before he hit fame. Now that he’s where he’s at, he rubs it in the faces of his nonbelievers while bragging about a couple material possessions. He also pumps some drive into his fans to keep pressing on. Great production as always. “I Choose You” delves into more of his personal life, the climb to fame and its many challenges. Logic also silences his haters once more while giving props to those who were in his corner when the going was not going good. The track also celebrates self-love and being mentally liberated from his career fears.

Logic’s self-confidence continues to swell in “Smooth Operator,” where he raps about real life and the many worries and chaos that accompany the rich and famous social status. But as he vents about the music business and all the craziness involved, he does not fail to throw in one or two kind lines of upliftment for the fans that get it and are going through it. “Starfield” maintains the energy of previous tracks and shares a similar theme of finding himself and his career journey. He also incorporates some watered-down slick talk and switches flows toward the end of the track, which turns out a little cliché.

Keeping it light and real, still, he gets into his feel-good zone in “Super High Freestyle,” where he highlights his delinquent ways as a growing kid. One that hung with the homies and blew trees instead of committing to schooling and education. Logic thinks back to the old times and appreciates them just like he does the fans toward the end of the brief song. Oh, and he nudges the listeners o smoke one to this to get on his wavelength.

In “Get High V3,” Logic reminds you why he is regarded as one of the greatest rappers with his impeccable storytelling. The moving tale is about a young man who finds heartbreak through love after discovering his first love was screwing his best mate behind his back. That’s where he loses it and goes off the deep end, got hooked on drugs and lost his family in the process. But after many years, he finds strength and gets himself clean, which is when he also meets the woman who would eventually become his wife. The grass-to-grace story and how Logic brilliantly wove it together line after line is surely bound to leave your whole body littered with goosebumps. Logic is GOAT-ed, for real.

“Griptape” featuring John Lindahl brings the mixtape to a close. In the song, Logic mourns the loss of how music used to be appreciated by the fans in real life before the advent of streaming services and the overrun of tabloids and social media, which he blames for the decline in true music and artist appreciation. John, the only feature on the mixtape lends his incredible vocals to the song’s hook and chorus, echoing Logic’s thoughts in his lyrics.
