Rita Ora Says She’s Not Taking Husband Taika Waititi’s Last Name After Getting Married

The British pop artist said she has decided not to adopt the Oscar-winning director’s last name during an interview on Monday’s Live with Kelly and Ryan broadcast.
The couple wed last year, and despite being married, Rita Ora is keeping her last name.
After congratulating Ora on her marriage, host Kelly Ripa enquired whether the 32-year-old singer-songwriter now considers herself “Rita Ora-Waititi.”

“I still just go by Rita Ora. I feel like it’s been such a whirlwind, the whole experience. And I’m just trying to keep up with you guys,” responded the “I Will Never Let You Down” performer, gesturing to Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos.

During the conversation, Ora also discussed how she fell in love with the Jojo Rabbit director. she said, “I truly believe that when you look at yourself in a certain way, you have to find your partner. And I believe that takes time, patience, and getting to know [yourself] , and then it just happens.”

Five months after a source made It known that the couple wed in a “very tiny” ceremony and after they ignited marriage rumors when Waititi and Ora looked to be wearing wedding bands on social media, she publicly announced the union last month.

The singer-songwriter recently released “You Only Love Me,” the lead single from her upcoming third studio album, and said she’s “happy” with where her life is right now.
