Davido Details Why He Raised An Additional 237 Million Naira For Charity This Year

The multi-award-winning musician and performer David Adeleke OON, better known by his stage name Davido, has disclosed that he will be giving 237 million naira to Nigeria’s underprivileged in 2023. The singer announced this on his social media platform on Thursday.

In a post on his Twitter platform, he said that the reason for this donation, which first took place on his birthday a few years ago, was because he had always looked for a way to use his platform to give support and assistance to other people who needed it.

The artist further claimed that The David Adeleke Foundation will continue to promote and empower needy communities throughout Nigeria. Continuing his remarks, he stated that the foundation continues to make a positive influence in the lives of those in need through initiatives such as this major donation to orphans.

The act of kindness began in 2021, when he requested that his friends send him one million naira on his birthday to show their support. His buddies obliged, and the musician revealed that the final total he received was 200 million naira, to which he added 50 million naira before contributing to charity.

The musician published the full list of over 200 orphanage houses in Nigeria across all 36 states that have received the donation on February 22, 2022.
