Gayle King Applauds The Early Success Of Sherri Shepherd’s New Talk Show

Despite the early popularity of Sherri Shepherd’s new talk program, Gayle King had nothing but positive things to say about her. At the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever New York premiere, ET’s Rachel Smith was talking to Shepherd when King came in to give her pal a hug and laud her praises.

“I’m so happy for her,” gushed King. “Listen, she said she wanted to bring light, she wanted to bring love, she wanted to bring funny — ding, ding, ding. Mission accomplished! And the numbers are good,” the co-host of CBS Mornings stated as she walked down the carpet.

After debuting her daytime talk show, Sherri, in September, Shepherd made her formal debut as a talk show host. The Daytime Emmy Award winner provided her audience with a brief and heartwarming introduction to their host in the opening speech of the first episode.

Dionne Warwick, Kym Whitley, and John Stamos have all made guest appearances on the show thus far; Sheryl Lee Ralph from Abbott Elementary will also visit later this month. Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres were two people that Shepherd cited as industry inspirations before the debut of her new show in an interview with ET.

Shepherd listed Michael B. Jordan, Lizzo, and Michelle Obama as her dream invitees before the premiere of her show. On FOX, Sherri airs weekdays at 10:00 a.m.
