Kendrick Lamar’s Streaming Numbers Go Up While Drake’s Takes A Dip Following Their Diss

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s well-publicized spat is impacting their streaming numbers in two very different ways.

Billboard reports that while the 6 God’s numbers have somewhat decreased, Kendrick has experienced a significant surge on streaming platforms recently. The diss track “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams,” and “Not Like Us” by the Compton rapper have all amassed millions of plays; the former has amassed an incredible 27.6 million on-demand plays in the United States alone between May 3 and May 6.

The song “Euphoria” might debut at No. 1 on the chart the following week after debuting at No. 11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. “Not Like Us,” which received 21.1 million streams in its first three days of availability, is also vying for the top place. Kendrick’s sampled songs have also benefited from the tracks; Teddy Pendegrass’ “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” has seen a 76 percent spike in streams.

The song “What a Wonderful Thing Love Is” by Al Green also experienced a 283 percent increase after being flipped on “6:16 in LA,” which is not yet available on streaming services. In addition to his diss songs against Drake, Kendrick Lamar’s past catalog is doing very well. From May 3–6, his whole career had 50.62 million streams, which is a 49 percent increase from the same Friday–Monday tracking period the previous week.

While Drizzy released two of his own diss singles, his catalog had a 4.9 percent decline during the same timeframe. From April 26 to 29, his catalog fell from 105.9 million streams to 100.7 million from May 3 to May 6.
