On Sunday, December 10, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele’s “A Tribe Called Judah” had its spectacular premiere in Lagos. And in the last few hours, social media has been buzzing with her movie.

Popular movie stars such Odunlade Adekola, Ini Edo, Femi Adebayo, Juliana Olayode, nicknamed Toyo Baby, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Ruth Kadiri were among those who graced the event, according to videos from the event that surfaced on social media.

“A Tribe Called Judah” centers on five chaotic brothers: Ejiro Judah (Olumide Oworu), Adamu Judah (Uzee Usman), Pere Judah (Timini Egbuson), Emeka Judah (Kene Achufusi), and Shina Judah (Tobi Makinde). To save their ailing mother, Jedidah Judah (Funke Akindele), the brothers must band together and go on a heist.

This also happens to be the second film to debut under Akindele’s newly established Funke Akindele Network, which handles all film-related business. “A Tribe Called Judah,” co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu (aka Captain Degzy) and photographed by Barny Emordu, will be released in theaters nationwide on December 15, 2023.
