Nollywood Actor Hanks Anuku Finally Cries Out; Calls For Help
Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has publicly discussed his years of unemployment, raising concerns about the recent pattern of stars in the industry not faring well after their on-screen careers. This happens after an extensively circulated video of him at a Delta petrol station sparked worries about his wellbeing on the internet. This won’t be the first time, as there have been previous instances where the Nollywood celebrity’s health has come under scrutiny and made headlines.
Through a video plea that went viral on social media, he begged Nigerians and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for help. The renowned actor, who has made numerous contributions to the Nigerian film industry, disclosed that he has been living hand-to-mouth in spite of his notoriety. His plea went straight to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his supporters, soliciting them to stand by him in these trying times. He said,
“I have worked for this country. I have attained the height of being a legend. But I’ve had no job for, God knows, how many years. And I expect that Nigerians will also know that I did it all for them. I just gonna ask Governor Sheriff [Oborevwori] to please send support to me. And my fans who truly love and appreciate the works I’ve done for them, if you think you truly love me, may God help you all to help me.”
