Normani Admits Days Of Self-Doubts Made Her Miss “Moments”

Despite being a teenage sensation as part of Fifth Harmony, 27-year-old singer Normani Kordei had been plagued with self-doubt and apprehension, fearing that she had missed her opportunity to make it big as a solo artist. Her debut solo album is yet to be released, and she has previously questioned whether her chance at success has slipped away. It is worth noting that Normani’s self-doubt has hindered her from enjoying some of her past accomplishments. The chart-topping star admits that her self-doubt had been the primary factor that held her back.

“I end up having certain conversations with myself where I’m thinking, ‘Is what everybody is saying true? Did I miss my moment? Did I wait too long? Do they still care?’ “, “I’ve missed out on so many of my moments because of doubt. I’ve been unable to celebrate my wins because I genuinely believed at that time that the goodness that’s coming to me was too good to be true. Not just as a woman but as a black woman, not just in this industry but in life, I’ve always felt my back has been up against the wall. I’m always fighting. So when something good happens, it’s hard for me to live in the moment.”

Normani, the former Fifth Harmony member, has shared that she’s been struggling with her creativity, which has caused her to hold back on releasing her debut album. However, she’s confident her fans will find her album worth waiting for. “I want to make sure that I deliver a top-quality album that will be worth the wait for both my fans and myself,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to excellence. Normani also spoke about her artistic growth and the importance of allowing herself to evolve and improve. “I’ve learned that growth takes time, and I’m willing to take the time to make sure that I am the best artist I can be,” she added.
