The Police Probes The Unlawful Embalming Of Mohbad’s Corpse

The Nigerian Police Force’s Lagos State Command is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of renowned singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, more thoroughly. The calling of Mohbad’s family and the people involved in the current inquiry into the illicit embalming of the deceased’s remains after his death served as the catalyst for the investigation.

Prior to this, Joseph and Abosede, the deceased’s parents, together with Boluwatife Adeyemo, popularly known as Darosha, who served as Mohbad’s personal assistant, were questioned at the Zone 2 Police Headquarters. Following Darosha’s interview, law enforcement officials have asked that everyone involved in his statement show up for more questioning.

The head of the family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, confirmed that the second round of interrogation took place at the Zone 2 Police Headquarters in Lagos State on Tuesday. Odumosu stated that the police were attempting to identify the “illegal mortician.” As instructed by their clients, the family’s attorneys filed a formal petition with the police, claiming that the late Mohbad’s personal assistant, Boluwatife Adeyemo, had embalmed the singer’s remains illegally.

The Coroner’s System Law, 2007, Sections 16 and 48, which describe the consequences and punishments for interfering with a deceased body, are violated by this activity.
