BNXN And Ruger Address Squashing Their Twitter Beef

The settlement of Nigerian singers Ruger and BNXN’s dispute was not what fans had anticipated at the beginning of 2024. With Billboard, BNXN and Ruger discussed how their feud was settled.

The first quarter of 2024 saw the end of Ruger’s battle with BNXN fka Buju. The pair collaborated on an EP called RnB after releasing the song Romeo Must Die. Released on April 18, 2024, the seven-track joint EP is already doing exploits, topping both the singles and album Apple Music Nigeria music chart.

The two recently talked about how they resolved their disagreement in a joint interview with Tetris Kelly of Billboard magazine. They talked about their reconciliation, the making of their most recent joint album, “RnB,” and their relationship with Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy. They also examined the growing appeal and global reach of the Afrobeats genre and offered insights into their inspiration.

It’s almost as though Ruger and BNXN, who had been engaged in a highly publicized war for supremacy during their rift, had suddenly chosen to play it cool and create a cool project that subdues all of the excitement and tames the rivalry. Maybe ‘RnB’ would have been seen differently if the moment leading up to the EP hadn’t had listeners on the edge of their seats.
