King Promise’s Implied Wedding Videos Revealed To Be Part Of A Music Video Staging
King Promise, a popular Ghanaian artist, made a stir on social media when a video presumably documenting his wedding day appeared online on Tuesday, April 23.
As soon as the video—which showed the singer in traditional clothing with well-known Ghanaian celebrities like Sarkodie, Dancegodlloyd, and Efia Odo—went viral, a lot of people started speculating about the singer’s looming marriage.
On closer inspection, though, it became clear that the images and videos were not from a real wedding but rather from the musician’s future song video. Though there was some early enthusiasm about the wedding rumors, it soon became apparent that the events were manufactured for artistic effect.
Notably, groomsman-playing Ghanaian influencer Soafrican has already revealed that he was working on the project. A video that Soafrican posted on his Instagram story gave behind-the-scenes photos of the location and revealed his involvement in the song video’s creative direction for King Promise.
Fans had been hoping to see the artist get married, but it looks like they will have to wait a bit longer since the rumored wedding footage turned out to be a professionally produced music video. Though it caused some uncertainty at first, the revelation provides fans with a glimpse into King Promise’s creative process and suggests an interesting project in the pipeline.
