Timaya Explains How He Had Gotten Hooked On Hard Drugs

Inetimi Alfred Timaya, also known as Timaya, is a Nigerian music sensation who has opened up about his experience as a drug addict during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. On Thursday, February 8, 2024, the celebrated musician openly discussed his problems with substance misuse in an exclusive interview with The Beat 99.9 FM.

Timaya, who is well-known for songs like “Bum Bum” and “Dem Mama,” said that he had dabbled in drug use in the past despite not being faultless. Recalling the peculiar difficulties of the lockdown, he recalled seeing some young men who were unexpectedly content at that time.

As a wealthy, self-made man in control of his own flourishing profession, Timaya began to wonder why some of the young men he met seemed to be happy. He learned that they were abusing a potent substance known as Molly. Timaya tested it out for himself, curious to see what it was like.

Timaya said that the substance felt extremely good when he first tried it, and as a result, he gave out a large amount of money without giving it any thought. However, he soon began to notice some negative affects. He started to lose a lot of weight and discovered that the reason for this was that he was taking three pills of the drugs each day.
