Lately, there has been a lot of debate about the impact of R&B music today. Some argue that the genre is dead and past revival. However, others believe that R&B is still very much alive. Whatever side you’re on, Tank wants you to know he’s still making money off it. When he announced the pre-order for his new album “R&B Money,” he called on fans to support him and show the world that people still buy R&B music. Also, you should know that this marks his 10th and final album. So, he will certainly appreciate the support as he bows out from the music scene. He worked with a couple of known names on the project. No doubt, he’s aiming to give fans the entire R&B experience. It is a straight-up R&B project.

Do you know one mistake Tank would never make? It is to talk about money and not show it off. That’s the cool thing about him; he lives it as he says it. On the cover art for the album, Tank poses in a yellow suit “that fits perfectly” with a smirk on his face. Oh, and there are wads of cash at his feet. You also cannot miss his blinged-out watch, which makes a statement. This has to be a reply to the critics of R&B. Of course, pictures say so much. He also seems to be seated in front of a vault. Now, that’s money.

Features

While some would want to do it all by themselves, Tank is not stingy with the features on the album. He collaborated with several known names, including the man Chris Brown, J Valentine, Alex Isley, Vedo, Feather, Rotimi, TVERSE, and Blaq Tuxedo. They also gave us the whole R&B experience, keying into his vision for the album.

Since the album dropped, it has gained a lot of praise from fans of the singer and lovers of R&B. “R&B Money” was preceded by the release of a few singles, including the solo single “I Deserve” and “Slow,” featuring J Valentine. The former has gained some success. “Can’t Let It Show” reigns supreme as the most popular song on the project. Also, “See Through Love” featuring Chris Brown has gained fans’ praise. Some other tracks, including “No Limit,” featuring Alex Isley, “Let’s Take A Ride,” featuring Rotimi and TVERSE, etc., have also gained love from fans.

Production & Vocal Delivery

As we stated earlier, with the album, Tank succeeds in proving the point that R&B is not dead. It still has the same impact when several R&B hits dominated the charts. The production of the project truly glorifies the genre, and it gives the whole R&B experience. You can tell from listening to the album that it gives the nod to some of the biggest names who represented the genre in the past. Tank also does not disappoint with the vocals. Same way, his collaborators gave quite a show complimenting his delivery.

Summary

Speaking about the album, Tank said, “R&B Money is a labor of love to my fans and to the genre of R&B. This is who I am! I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for artists like Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Keith Sweat, Al Green, and my fans, who inspire me every day to make music. I wanted this album to pay homage to my influences and my evolution as an artist, and I think that’s what this final album represents.” We agree that he did a great job on the album. There is no better way to bow out of the music scene than with a perfect album. You should check it out if you haven’t already.
